Friday: No One Likes Disfigured People

TS3

This weekend’s box office is about as uninteresting as Jonah Hex’s 70 minute running time (minus credits). Toy Story 3 destroyed its competition as expected and Jonah Hex earned a bit less then the measly predictions.

Toy Story 3 grabbed $41 Million on Friday and should make an excellent $120 Million for the weekend. By comparison, The Princess and the Frog (Disney’s attempt to do animation without Pixar) opened at $24 Million. We know who the breadwinner is in that relationship.

Though Warner Brothers gave up on it before the first trailer was released, Jonah Hex failed to match even Splice’s terrible opening weekend. It brought in $2 Million on Friday and will be hard-pressed to make even $6 Million for the weekend. Sure, if the budget was low this wouldn’t be so bad. Its budget was around $65 Million though. So… wow.

Gameplay Update: Chain leaders are now static and can, using the owner tools on the right hand side of their chain page, assign a new leader at any time.

Caption Contest: Give the photo at the top a gut-busting caption and get +30 points for your theater (that don’t count in challenges). One caption per theater and the one with the most likes wins. Hold off voting until Monday please. Look at the Telephone’s creepy eyes and Woody’s confused/shocked face for inspiration.
